The studio is a warm, plaster-walled shopfront in Brunswick East — polished terrazzo underfoot, a timber-battened ceiling, louvred windows onto the street, and a single lash bed under an arc lamp with a cream chunky-knit throw. One room built to hold one person at a time. The hand-drawn sign at the door, where the two O's of NOON are eyes with lashes drawn over them, is exactly what the studio is: one person's mark on one room, made by hand.
